BLOOD ON THE GREEN SHROUD… – Binnaz Deniz Yildiz
May 26, 2026
I hung my bloody needle on the green shroud
The fiend emerging from my atlas, the grammar of a tongue around my neck
(The string of my Rembrandt amulet in a shipwreck)
The child awaiting death at the street corner was holding a violin against his chest
A snowflake in his mouth… He hung his corpse on the trees with his teeth of ice
A madman speaks inside me. Chewing the scream of my mind in the silence. Labyrinths walk
Within my belly, a cat searches for its city
The madman bellows:
“The hands emerging from your body glow in the dark!”
I walk across the cliffs. Mirrors upon my feet… The soles of my feet crack and I see
Myself.
My diamond observatory, the star triangle
Now is the time of purification for all birds!
I dried my eyes in the midst of a sin, flung them into the bushes. The statue of God in the darkness stretching under the moonlight… (An translucent creature—my bowed head spared by the sword)
Give me your wings, owl, give me your feathers! Cast my ink soul into the well!
I hung my bloody needle on the green shroud. The child was awaiting death at the street corner
He saw me on the tree / The hands emerging from your body glowed in the dark
The trees shook, the thickets of human flesh…
And he shot himself!
