FAHRENHEIT 0: THE HOTEL OF SCREAMING SHEETS – Binnaz Deniz Yildiz

The purple groin of my eyes, Michael on my retina, a woman washes herself on the stool of my tears

Lightless pit, a tripod with overturned feet, fire ruled over my fields of rain…

I have grown used to the lemon blossoms of the mornings. Mirrors in various clothes at the windows… The stain of the city’s abyss drips from my mouth… I vomited the naked voice of heaven onto the streets…

A praying crowd, green lampshades on their heads, a lizard recital…

The blood inside the extinguished star!

With a needle in my mouth, I leaned toward the marble nun.

With her plastic skin, she extinguished the madness on my tongue…

The wine of darkness is a prophet’s motto…

A vulture lying in ambush…

A cat in Istanbul’s ferry lines declared itself a god; snakes hanging on harp strings are washing their hands

A path of worms, the temperature in Fahrenheit, distilled the flesh of my mind into hotel rooms…

I dressed the dirty key onto the train doors.

The sheets were walking and screaming, demanding a sacrifice

Zebercet hanged himself with a resurrection of sand.

The last crumb on the table… Pigeon wings… Unravel, my heavy death! In dark wagons

Time is a rat eating itself, the screaming compartment turns sour… “The one” dying in my arms…

Zebercet is pulling my hair. I sleep on shards of glass.

Zebercet is waiting! He will wait in a vile madness within the falling photograph!

This is neither the first nor the last disaster! Everything will transform!

( Zebercet:

The iconic protagonist of Yusuf Atılgan’s Motherland Hotel. He is the ultimate symbol of existential solitude, psychological disintegration, and the suffocating weight of social alienation. He represents a man trapped in the ‘purgatory’ of his own mind, waiting for a life that will never arrive.)
