Coil’s Love’s Secret Domain is one of those really special genre-shredding albums that still plays well.

Only have "The Ape of Naples" 3xLP, "Gold is the New Metal" LP and "Horse Rotorvator" LP but from what I've read those 3 are all regarded as some of their best.

I think of their music, in a complimentary manner, as marsipan goth and some kind of "purest" (not sure what word I want here) of fucked in the head homosexuality. I would've loved to have been pals with them.

Sooooo many bands try to be punk rock or tough or scary or rebellious.

Coil don't even have to try to be terrifying.

They just naturally are.

Neek was fairly busy that year. In related news, I have NOT bought his last 2 albums as I've given up on the cunt. Warren Ellis has ruined him with that blip plop casiotone horseshit.

Haven't heard anything good about it. Best review has been "middle age dinner party music" so the bar is low. Still thing Dirty Three is the most boring shit out there. Bring back Blixa with his tin pot of hair gel.

1750 album
i wonder what the sweet spot is. somehwere between 600-1000 albums is my latest brilliant theoreouom. Then you can play 2 a day and listen to each one at least every couple of years. Instead of mammoth collection where you're mathematically reduced to playing each one every 13 millenia
Still thing Dirty Three is the most boring shit out there.
Secretly Disrtibution are the exclusive for D3 and have most of their albums in print for about as cheap as youre gonna find, $10 or so. read some rave reviews and went to check them out on the youtubes. yep, boring as hell. although I dont mind boring so wouldnt mind hearing whats regarded as their best shit.

Pretty darn close, trying to cut down to one Bob Mould, one Hüsker Dü, one Sugar, one Mudhoney, one J Spencer before even looking into all the other dolly pop! Even knowing I'm going to have to split Wu-Tang/GZA/Method Man into a single selection is causing cold sweats. One of three Sonic Youth. Do I pick the best songs shit mix or the stellar mix slightly weaker songs for Mark of Cain?

Down to 200 at the moment. s/t, Zen Arcade and FU:EL are out. SMAP, the Lady Ga-Ga still an outside chance. Speak to my bookie, he'd be glad to take your money on big odds.

Here in The Lockdown have embarked on my boldest, stupidest most menial journey yet; typing out THE Definitive Alltime 500 Best Albums list.

FFS why do I start these things.

Had a look at Rolling Stone's list. ffs. Even shittier than I thought it would be. Had to scroll about 3 metres before I got to anything from this damn century and then it was "2001; Abba's Greatest Hits." ffs boomers. way to drop the ball. Get your heads out your arses.

Fuck sales/reputation/hipness. My sole criteria; The Thrill
