A FRAMES police 7" $4.50. far heavier than #1 cd
A FRAMES 1 cd $10. greatness.
A FRAMES 2 cd $10. hasnt been given much chance due to #1 cd.
B-52's 7" rock lobster 300 yen (b/w planet claire! man, it doesnt get any better than that)
TOM TOM CLUB genius of love 7" 300 yen (godhead funk)
TOM TOM CLUB on and on 7" 300 yen
MUDHONEY generation spokesmodel 7" 100 yen. Fairly forgettable.
Rocket From The Crypt/BLOODTHIRTY BUTCHERS 500 yen split 2x7". Been trying to get this back for years since I very cleverly sold my copy in my old shop. Local Sapporo fellows BT Butchers didnt bring their best to this one, saved it for the "I'm standing nowhere" release in about 1993.
Rocket From The Crypt 300 yen 7". "On the prowl" Big deal. The B side saves it though
FUCKED UP dangerous fumes 7 $4, Big deal. For all their ltd ed record wankery etc, these are 2 forgettable tracks. Maybe I'm missing something. Surely.
Is that cover a Jim Jones BBQ? BYO!
TRAGEDY nerve damage LP $7.50. Very, very hardcore. Was hoping for something more dynamic. Honestly, I was hoping for WARCRY, the side band who I now prefer to this. Roar and bluster. On and on it goes. Am I too old for this? It'll grow on me. Surely. At the moment it doesnt have nearly the impact the first 2 lp's had...

ASSHOLE PARADE embers lp. *FREE* no idea records were such good guys. not really my bag but still like it better than the new TRAGEDY LP.
JAMES BROWN get up I feel like being a sex machine PT 1 & 2 7" 200 yen. Never seen this Japanese version before. awesome funk.
BT EXPRESS. funky music 7" 200 yen. no. 1977. they'd lost it.
SPARKS angst in my pants lp. Magic. 200 yen. I have been dancing around the room as if I were the consort of a known homosexual.
STEVIE WONDER higher ground 7" 200 yen. never seen this before either. so of course I have to buy it even though I've had the long player with this song on it for about 60 years.

also unearthed a box of "3 for 100 yen" 7" and went slightly berko.

SPENT IDOLS broken promises. clean catchy garage. A real keeper. Until it wasnt
MENS RECOVERY PROJECT make a baby. Bonkers. Love those dotty instrumental interludes. "Mannnn. Hooole. Manhole"
EVANCE fucker, fucker, fucker, fucker. A side was over so fast I hadnt even sat down yet. Concrete mixer run-a-muck sound.
GUIDED BY VOICES dayton, ohio. dark acoustic niceness. Fuck this
CORNERSHOP born disco died heavy metal. horribly annoying title track. redeemed by the Indian sounds on the rest of it.
GLUECIFER i call bullshit. "Rock and roll" poseur aesthetic with a dull clean accessible sound clamouring for purchase aboard the garage rock gravy train. fuck this.
MCM AND THE MONSTER/SKEBOKING(?) Japanese B-Boys rap. WORSE THAN IT SOUNDS. FUCKING CHRIST. MCM had some fun live shows back in the early 90's but...this is bollocks.
HER SPACE HOLIDAY skyline 7" ethereal. a tasteful, lighter-than-air caress between meatshits.
ARCHERS OF LOAF/TREEPEOPLE 2x7" played the whole thing throught twice, cant remember a fucking thing about it.
THE PLOT TO BLOW UP THE EIFFEL TOWER/NECKTIE PARTY 7" screams, roars, forgettable.
NIGHT RIDER. 1979! "New wave" they called it. Xeroxed cover is why I bought this, xeroxed cover + 1979 = smart dark pop? I guessed right on this one. pick of the bunch.

WATERBOYS pagan place LP 120 yen. on first listen a bit overwrought although the title track could save it.
TOM WAITS heartattack and vine LP 120 yen. quite rooting some bits. still have a feeling Mr Waits was faking the whole screaming jay hawkins pastiche though.
ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN songs to learn and sing LP 120 yen. comp of tracks I already have on other lp's... THAT I DONT EVEN LIKE VERY MUCH.
MASTODON blood mountain LP. What the hell? Wasnt expecting PEARL JAM with Yngwgie Mangosteen solos. Kept waiting to be smoted ala the last track on the "Lifeblood" 2x7". Never was. Sure, they wind it on on occasion but still seems like a let down. Yes, I was expecting the moon on a fucking stick after all the hype and me - stupidly, exorbitantly and decadently - paying US$39.99 for the fucker. MORAN. Won't someone in the future invent some sort of internet tv tube thing?
CHROME CRANKS "stuck in a cave 7" 33 yen. b/w slow and low version of T-REX's "slider". top shit.
DEAD C stealth 7" 33 yen. gloomy noise skronk. not top shit.
LED ZEPPELIN "physical graffiti" 2xlp 333 yen. had this one as a kid, only really bought it again to hear John Bonham play the drums on "Kashmir". Big deal. SOLD.
RESIDENTS mark of the mole LP 333 yen. 1982. First in a series of concept lp's detailing the exploits of an underground mole race? Well, awlright! I need that "Nibbles" lp back too, that thing was bonkers, "Semolina" etc.
DEVO duty LP 333 yen. Bout fucken time
SPACESHITS/DEADLY SNAKES 380 yen. woah, never seen this before. 1998, wow, deadly snakes have been around that long?

WAR platinum jazz 2xlp $5 too much mellow hippie vibe not enough monster funk

GASP/NOOTHGRUSH 7" 320 yen. on clean plate records! remember them? got this for the Noothgrush hoping their slowmo dirge was more to my liking compared to their side of the split lp w/CORRUPTED. its GASP who nail it here though. great.

GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR xanthu 2xlp TRADE. 3 songs over 72 mins, no vocals, building atmospherics. Normal people would call this music "gloomy" and "not cheerful." Fuck them all.
v/a MEIN KAMPF thrash comp 7" TRADE. 10 bands, all thrash. a TEAR IT UP song I've never heard. what a fuckign band they were. colossal 1,200 mph thrash sound.

...gahhh, those three 7"s for 100 yen boxes again... 30 cents each. goddamn giving them away

VIVISICK/STRUCK 7" what the hell is this doing in the 33 yen bin? It's on Dan Doh Records! This store is in Japan! I saw Vivisick live a couple of years back and seriously could not cope with their sound. I just couldnt hear a fuckign thing, totally blurred, unrelenting wall of noise. This is way more accessible.... accessible in a trowel-wielding banshee slashing at your knob sort of way. Blazing thrash. Great.
FLASH GORDON 7". never seen anything in stores, at any price, by these guys before and there's the bastard sitting there for 33 fucking yen. fun thrash that tries a zillion styles and pulls it off. i want to play this again and thats not something I can say about a lot of this type of stuff these days. hyperactive thrash thats up there with DRI and TEAR IT UP.
THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS o tannenbaum 7" wary of this but vaguely recalled enjoying some parts of my old "Flood" tape...and the back credits mentioned a "Tony Maimone"... wasn't he in PERE UBU? No dice. If you want it, its in the fucking carpark downstairs. probly snowed over by now. good fucking riddance.
V/A FOOLING WITH PAIN. (capitalist casualties and uhh... yeah, for 33 yen thats all I needed to see)
DALE CROVER drumb 7" melvins drummer on Mans Ruin. tacky bogun cover hinted at rawk but nope, this is ambient weirdo art meanderings, taxiis down the runway and then quietly onto the grass.
ELLIOT in transit 7" bit nah
AMERICAN NIGHTMARE 7" nah
I HATE MYSELF/STRIKEFORCE DIABLO nah
JAZZ JUNE breakdance suburbia 7" hated this bands full lengths but idiotically gave them another crack. still bollocks.
AFTERSHOCK/STATECRAFT. have aftershock full length, blood and bone metal goodness, very listenable.
LxIxE why? 7"
LxIxE legalize it 7" traded away my discography cd 2 years ago full-well knowing that I would buy these two 7" today. i rule Brittania right down the front of my strides.
ALL/JUDGE NOTHING. pic disk. a tepid 2 minute Kenny Rogers cover? haha, how ironic. Music not worth the effort of making the picture disc.
UUTUUS 7" its on prank records. good enough for me. Finland must be full of enraged, fucked off people to make musics like this.
MERZBOW COCK ESP 7" must be rare as all shit. Past experience of Merzbow has left me very fuckign unimpressed. One bloke and a keyboard played thru a jet engine. May as well turn all the dials to 10 and put bricks on the keyboards for 3 minutes. This one is far more listenable although with this guy thats like saying a helicoptor rotor to the face is less painful than a rusty chainsaw to the cock.

STRANGLERS all day and all of the night 7" 300 yen. 1987. they'd lost it.
GAUNT pop song 7" 250 yen. awesome.
THIS MORTAL COIL filigree 2xlp 400 yen. fucking great whale humping music. Bit of an ENYA vibe worried me at times... MiniMe even slagged it off as "elevator music" at one stage...although did later say she "liked this elevator music song"
DIMMER 7" 150 yen. Shayne Carter and Peter Jefferies. I need more Flying Nun stuff from the motherland.
PETER JEFFERIES elevator madness 300 yen lp. I think Mr Jefferies unadulterated Niew Zullund acksent caused some of my speaker wires to disintegrate on this one.
SECRET CHIEFS 3 book m $10 cd. 2004. HP Lovecraft would've shat his pants over this. Now have all 5 of their cd's. "Second Grand Constitution and Bylaws" is still the best.
SIX FINGER SATELLITE clone theory 12" 400 yen. I like my "Pigeon is the most popular bird" cassette better.
THE JAM going underground 7" 300 yen. great.
LIVE FAST DIE lp. FREE. from termbro member. Awesome

May 2007, $30 cd lot from Todd Trickknee who now hates me with a blazing passion. Fuck knows why. Take a number. Join the queue.

FEELERS learn to hate the feelers.
DEAN DIRG 26 kicks to make the whole world pay. (these krauts rock like hellbastads.)
TRACTOR SEX FATALITY peel to play (more of an amrep sound)
LOCOMOTIONS s/t
HEARTATTACKS s/t
KNOCKOUT PILLS s/t
MANIKINS lie cheat and steal (bit of a commercial sound?)
THE TEARS s/t
PLASTIQUES 101 sounds like the SAINTS. meets RFTC? in parts.
MYSTERY GIRLS s/t
REAL LOSERS music for funsters.
ALUMINUM KNOT EYE trunk lunker

Unofrtunately, in my giddy haste to hear them all simultaneously, I stupidly played all 12 back-to-back thus its almost all a blur of trashy garage noise.

FUCKED UP Hidden World 2xLp. What a munter. All 5+ minute songs. Was worried it'd be too much hard hardcore for old man dawley, it'd prove too crushing over a 2xlp length. It's not. Lots of mid tempo munt. It rocks. Like the RAMONES. Catchy as shit. Some parts remind me of the WHO for some reason. US$15 +12 postage from jesusLand makes this one pricey mutha for me.
KATE BUSH and her greatest hits lp (300 yen) and right next to it in the cut-out bin for 200 yen...
DYSTOPIA "human=garbage" lp hey, I've had it on dubbed tape for damn near 10 years

...and from Tower Records dirty ol' 300 yen cd bins;

TREVOR DUNNS TRIO CONVULSANT cd wanky soundtrack noodling that makes me think of spoiled rich yanks doing it because they can. maybe I need to listen further.
THE KING KHAN & BBQ SHOW s/t. catchy as hell. Chuck Berry? this one could be addictive. it is. best thing I've got so far this year. dubbed to shithouse cassette tape, it has taken up seeming permanent residence on the stereo. It is fucking gorgeous. The first two songs are seriously uplifting stuff. Sounds like 1950's roots music or something. 2 guys! Amazing.
HUNCHES "stop.go" raucous as hell gaggarge On "In The Red." maybe too hectic for me.

100 yen 7" bin scabs.

PHOBIA enslaved. 1200 mph grindcore, cookie monster vocals. I must have gone off this stuff. Where's that PETER JEFFERIES lp? Slap-a-ham #29, maybe I'll get rich on ebay.
WARHEAD drive it in your head. This 7" must be rare as shit. Why is it 100 yen here in a Japanese shop? Theyve got the GUDON and SOB and GISM cd's at 5,000 yen. Saw these guys last year, little mohawked vocalist alternated his throat-shredding roaring with profuse yet casual vomiting. Green vomiting. Not many fist-shaking groupies converged before him.
GORILLA BISCUITS s/t. Revelation #4, bought it to flog on eBay, doh, it's not rare at all. Tepid-sounding following Warhead.
V/A Dope Guns Fucking Vol 11. not much happeneing here
BAD BRAINS live at iguanas. blue vinyl. rare? bootleg? Distant sounding recording spoiled Pay to Cum and Banned in DC. Not really though.

King Kong records and the thrust and parry game I play with the guy there over my unwanted lp's and reimbursement. Fuck, most of the stuff in the shop used to be mine at one stage, you'd think they'd be matey by now. Shit, if it was the same situation in my old store in Niew Zullund, we'd be great old pals by now. I'll take 5 lps in, they'll offer me 700 yen. I'll say no thanks and take my leave. Do the same thing 2 months later, they'll quote me 1500 yen for the same 5, I'll hem and haw then accept. I'll go in a week later and try the same thing, they'll offer me 700 yen. Repeat cycle.

Today they gave me 1,500 yen, I turned around and happened across another box of 100 yen 7", bought 13 of them:
LOCUST flight of the wounded locust. Nutso. But annoying.
SUPERSUCKERS marie. tepid.
SWERVEDRIVER zephyr. some mega rare fan club deal. Used to play "Raise" all the time. Still have that lp w/the 7". Should have flogged it on eBay when it was going for big bucks.
SWERVEDRIVER sessions 7". more commercial.
TORTOISE. why we fight. big Albini drum sound.
GAS HUFFER shrill beeps. sucks. I had one good thing by them. "Janitors of Tomorrow"?
SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE pillars. heard the hype but never heard the band. No thanks. Sappy.
ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT plays music machine. Gone off these guys but keep buying their 7" from the cut-out bin. Mr Reis other band HOT SNAKES smotes this.
MODEST MOUSE 1st 7". Twaddle. Priced at $60 on ebay? Liplock me up to the Gravy Train ringpiece.
CROATAN. mans ruin. rad cover. Bollocks music. A forgettable L7.
PORTASTATIC. Superchunk guys acoustic thing.
DUDMAN/BATHTUB SHITTER 7 Stupidly, I already have this record. I bought it again. The Dudman side is so spectacular. I've gone off a lot of thrash but this, TEAR IT UP and the first DRI 7" are big exceptions. Uhh... who wants it?
Locust/Arab On Radar 7 Potty shaped record. Blob shape. Locust sound like a mess here. A.O.R (haha, "AOR") are less dissonant than I was expecting. AOR wins the day
