I’ve Fixed Your Bath – Jacob Madkour

Calligraphy

The Wisconsin
Daughters
Suckle dead the
Day of all souls
And I’ve been
Writing so
Many letters

I hope they’ll Love me

Pistolwhip

I read that the Japanese
In the war would
Make their hostages
Eat pounds of dry rice
Then feed them water
So the rice would expand
Inside them and the sound
This must have made
Something like
Old bullfrogs and
a Burning far-off
and a Mother
Screaming come back
But the children are
Eating from cans
Around embered coals
It’s night
There’s laughter
And They’re
Playing with pistols
The barrel in their
Small Mouths
They’re never Coming home

Electric Eden

Nurse Eden drips the Milk
Down her arm to watch me
Squirm I spit a tooth at her I’ve
Fixed your bath she says
And points to the mountain
Of car parts burning
Chrome Coronations
Out in the lot

No one has any clue about us
And what we do
The mute Mother’s ashes
Dead roots Charred carnations
The Soulless Hostages
Siamese heads in bags

Tonight we have a junkyard fire
I’ve made masks of our faces
And we’ll wear each other
Till we’ve forgotten
How we’ve gotten here

And our whereabouts
