Broccoli on the

Chicken on the
Left
No fun when you’re
22,32,42 or,
I bet, 52
Downhill from the
Day of birth
Don’t need to read
Nietzsche or be the
Least bit educated
Once you get past
abc or 123
What comes next
Is not so good
Pretty bad from what
I can tell

Trix are for Kids

She shoves the
Lubricated carrot
stick up your
ass

Gently rubs your
Balls while reminding
You

You are not a
Lucky rabbit

This is Street Rock and Roll

This is street rock
and roll
This is street rock
and roll
Born in the streets
The streets of the
mind
Swipe the ATM card
all you want
It’s always empty
The graffiti is
unintelligible
You are a stranger
in your own neighborhood

You can’t go on the
EBT
You can’t play the
market
Well I guess you can
but you will always
lose and the answer
will always be “no”

The yuppie doesn’t
live in the hi-rise
He resides in your frontal lobe
And what about
the hipster?
He’s the reflection in
the mirror
But there’s no
mirror and there’s
no “you,”
is there?
Think about it
Or don’t
Either way there’s
no getting out

That’s what
street rock and
roll is all about
The trains run by
but they will never
stop
Not the J/Z on
Broadway
Or the M on
Myrtle
You’re either in
or out
And that doesn’t
mean a thing

Street rock and
roll
Neural transportation
Grind to a halt
Bursting synapses
Due to train traffic
ahead

Place your head
between your hands
and squeeze as
hard as you can
You can’t escape
these streets
These are the streets
of real rock and roll

All the Colors Bleed

All the colors bleed
into one
A muddy black
is all you see
and all the possibilities
of all the children
you never had
Empty look of
parents and relatives
“Well, where are the
children?”

We got it all wrong
Scrap it go back
Everything went wrong
Go back in time
When we were
Neanderthals and
banged rocks together
with loving eyes
We’ll do better
this time
Highly doubt it
but we’ll see

Indefinite Tadpole

I wish to remain
a tadpole
Indefinitely
I have no wish
to turn into
A frog
Or kiss an
average looking
Princess

I want to swim
in the murky waters
Keep my gills
intact
and fight
salamanders on
occasion

I wish to
avoid dry land
and compete
with other frogs,
reptiles or even
worse…

humans

Shake Your Skeleton

Did my mom and
dad love me?

How will I know
How can I be sure…

I dig up their
graves

Shake their skeletons
Look into their
skulls

No eyes
No nose
No ears
No memories
of unhappiness
buried in the
thoughts of the
living

Mom, Dad
Wake up!
Shake your
skeleton!
Hello! Hello!
No happy
endings no
closure
Smarter people
