The Child’s Dream – Binnaz Deniz Yildiz

Time was a volatile thing Self-contained like a balloon, a bit powdery Words were Matryoshka dolls At the cost of hushed-up cities, only to vanish in another!
My soul, my heart, and my body carried two heavy suitcases At the junction of Argentina Turnoff or Blue Cat Fishing Street Life was a cold apparatus, never spared by the rain I waited for several ferries in interlaced labyrinths My eyes descended from the opening doors, then my hands They carried my corpse to a graveyard in Tophane
And “We forgot God!” screamed a child He had wings, roughly combed hair, short legs… Swaying: right and left, south and north, this way and 그 way… “I am so lonely!” said the child. “My father is the birthmark living on my temple.”
Angels and demons appeared in infinite harmony Books opened, books closed A few women, arms dealers, the scent of Africa, salt and smoke Nemesis dispersing in the air While cumulus clouds hid beneath the lustful earth
Angels and horned creatures became naught The algorithm of the shining stars… Caravans roamed the deserts, they stole the light “The world!” said the child. The same child. “The world is tiny; in my hand, right here, right now.” “Hiding inside a snow globe. About to break, any moment now!”
The city where the music stopped was buried in darkness That burning birthmark never left the child’s skin And then, Azrael wept In the child’s dream!
