THE LAST ANGEL – Binnaz Deniz Yildiz
June 10, 2026
Pegasus, the assassin of my flesh, pomegranate-hot; restless, enraged
(A mythomania of embers upon its tongue)
The judge of the dark night sits atop it, boldly stealing a human face
“The Cheese and the Worms” fill the celestial sphere of the moon
…And from the far beyond
A deer that craves the whip
Dresses in the hat of a dead man
An eternal-bright-deviant spirit
Crept slowly within…
Pegasus, the assassin of my flesh, transforms into an aged master
His servant proffers chains of submission / The golden sun descends upon my blood-weeping hair
Poseidon eviscerates my chest. My dark chamber…
The priest at my door pulled the key from my wall. We wept together for the sunken city
Looking into my eyes, he shouted: “Child; the real matter is to feel the Flood in your heart!”
A storm… lanterns flickering faint… earth tumbling from the mountains
The agony where darkness and light collide! David surged through our bodies
We slept upon the crucifix.
She suckled us, as our mother
With the dome of the sky beneath us
The night rears up
Our skin heaped into flames
From the remnants of the Flood, the Last Angel appeared…
